Kechelsa's Story

My name is Kechelsa Rawlins and I am the Founder and CEO of Barrels For Change. As a first generation American with my maternal and paternal family being from Nevis, I consider this island to be my second home. Upon receiving my Bachelors in Biology from Binghamton University, I have spent the majority of my post-baccalaureate career working within the medical field. My background in the medical field, along with my aspirations to become a physician, have inspired me to be a part of the fight for medical equality in all areas of the world. This inspiration was further ignited by the tragedy that fell on my family last year when my cousin Keyon lost his sight as a result of inadequate medical resources in Nevis. My goal is for this organization to prevent other families from experiencing a similar fate all due to a lack of medical resources.
